I remember when Jay Rayner's mother died; he appeared on television that same evening and said that his mother had not "passed away." She had died. That is so true - why dress it up?
I know, but it is so difficult. Personally, I would rather not sugar coat the reality, but as a celebrant, I have to be mindful that not everyone feels the same! So I am just as guilty as all those who say "passed away"...
